SCREEN OVERVIEW

  1. Previous Doc - Navigate backward through a document. Use both the Previous Doc and Next Doc buttons to cycle through a document.
  2. Next Doc - Navigate forward through a document. Use both the Previous Doc and Next Doc buttons to cycle through a document.
  3. Prev Hit - Moves backward to the previous search hit within a document. This button does not appear until after a search has been initiated.
  4. Next Hit - Moves forward to the next search hit within a document. This button does not appear until after a search has been initiated.
  5. Reference - Provides the exact location of the active document within the Codified Ordinance. Selecting this button will launch a separate window to display the document path within the Ordinance.
  6. Sync Toc - Used to synchronize the Table of Contents with your location in the code to make it easier to find related information. Selecting this button will expand the Table of Contents to reflect the location of the document you are viewing. The document location will remain highlighted until the next time you synchronize the TOC.
  7. Search - Start quickly by typing in your query in this box and select Go. Results will be displayed in the Search Results frame. This is the fastest method to initiate a search.

Use the Cite Locator to quickly find a section.
The Expert Search allows you to type the specific search syntax such as And, Or, and Nor. Use the "Query Syntax Summary" as a guide for using query syntax.
Use Advanced Search to refine a search that returns too many hits. Advanced searching allows you to specify exact phrases, include or exclude related words, search a limited section of the library, and show the context of a hit in the hit list.

  1. Table of Contents - Use this box to access the Table of Contents. Select a document icon to expand that section of the Codified Ordinance. Select the same icon to collapse that section.
  2. Document Frame - This is where the document is displayed.
  3. Search Results - After performing a search, the resulting list of documents will be displayed here. Select a document to view.
